The Roadster has been frustrating the hell out of me lately. When I picked up the car, I knew that she wasn’t perfect, but I had no idea how little she had been taken care of before I bought her. Now I spend alot of my time fixing several things that the previous owner took less than perfect care off.

I haven’t been able to enjoy the car once this year at the local autocrosses, without something happening to her.

Project Black Roadster (NA6C)- 1993 Mazda Miata LE (My Roadster!)

Hey there guys,

Several of you have been asking about the cars the writers of the StartingGrid use to get around. I decided to start first and do a short feature on my own daily driver, a 1993 first-generation Mazda Miata.

I love this car. I call it the “Roadster”, partly as homage to the Eunos Roadster, and partly because how she makes me feel when I’m driving her. Driving the Roadster is a real tactile experience, and as a driver that’s something that I require out of the machines that I own.

Slammed Roadster again!-I think I might be coming down with something.

Honestly, I have no idea what’s wrong with me, but I’ve been having this urge to find pictures of slammed Roadsters! I know that the suspension geometry is effed, and that the roll centers are borked, but I just don’t seem to care.

We’ve just got to be lucky that I don’t have the cash to randomly do this to my Miata…yet. (I kid, kinda…)

Tuned NA Roadster vs R34 Skyline- Video

I was doing some surfing of the intertron, and I stumbled onto  a video of a tuned Mazda Roadster doing battle with a R34 Skyline at (insert Japanese track name here). From what I could find out via Google translator, the Roadster is generating about 290bhp, and is doing the business!

I haven’t found any pictures of the car yet, but check out how it holds off the Skyline. Also, the noise! (+10 points of Mazda goodness). I love crazy tuned Roadsters like this one.
