|Video| Senna vs Prost: Side by Side Qualifying – Suzuka 1989

Everyone knows about Senna vs Prost. We don’t need to go into that. Both were epic drivers, for very different reasons. However, very rarely do people take an opportunity to compare qualifying laps between the two drivers side by side.

However, take a look at this video from 1989, during the Japanese Grand Prix. Senna, who was known as the master of qualifying, out-paced his teammate Prost by 1.7 seconds in the same car. That’s another lifetime in racing terms.

|Video| Take a look at a #F1 Pit Garage (2013)

When you’re a Formula 1 fan, one of the nice things about having uncompetitive teams is that they allow the media more access to their pit garages. That’s just because the cars were so off the pace, there wouldn’t be much information for competing teams that they would want to steal for their cars.

I found a video of what the 2013 Mclaren and 2013 Caterham pit crews were doing on the cars during a Friday night. Both cars were pretty horrible, so we get to see the mechanics actually working on the cars!

Check it out before FOM nicks the video.

|Video| Senna’s first taste of #F1

We’re coming up on the 20th anniversary of Aryton Senna’s tragic passing. You can read all about respectful tributes of this solemn day in motorsport. However, what I wanted to do was share something a bit more uplifting.

Watching Aryton’s Senna’s first test in a Formula 1 car. Testing for Williams, Mclaren and Toleman. Senna had only started gracing the world of Formula 1, and the hearts of racers for generations.

DJ Mixes Beats with #F1 Sounds

People have been complaining about the sounds of the 2014 F1 cars for a while, myself included. However, if you can’t fix it, feature it, right?

Sounds like some DJ is going to make a beat-track with F1 sounds. I’m not going to lie. This sounds like pretty fun idea. Can’t wait for the full track.

|Video|What does a #F1 Pitstop look like in slow motion?

A Formula 1 pitstop is one of the greatest orchestrations of man and speed. In less than three seconds, a team of guys can jack the car up, replace the tires and send it on its way. Incredible how much can get done in such a short span of time.

|Video| What will a 2014 #F1 car look like?

In 2014, Formula 1 is going through one of the largest technical regulation changes in the series. We all know about the change from the 2.4 V8 engine to the 1.6 Liter V6 turbo “power unit”. (Click here to hear the Mercedes V6 turbo on the dyno.)

However, there are other aerodynamic and physical changes to the car that people may not know about, just simply described.

#f1 #f1chat Interview with David Coulthard – Making Opportunities Happen

Check out this interview by David Coulthard, driver at Mclaren and Williams Formula 1 teams. Winner of 13 Grand Prix, Coulthard is now a pundit for the BBC, broadcasting the races. David’s interview just give a brief summary of his career in Formula 1.

I wish I had something more clever to say about it, but as a Formula 1 nerd, it’s just always interesting to hear from someone in the sport.

|Video| RUSH – Official International Trailer (2013)

The world has been missing a good racing movie. I mean, an actual good racing movie that shows the thrills and possible horrors of the sport. Ron Howard has brought together some amazing talent to make a film that’s less in a lesser talked about era of Grand Prix racing.

Lauda vs Hunt. I mean, Thor is now James Hunt! I cannot wait to see this movie. This is going to be amazing. What about you guys? Let us know in the comments.
