|Video|#f1 Interview with Derek Warwick

If you love all aspects of Formula 1, you need to listen to this interview with Derek Warwick. It’s a bit long, but to glean so much insight from a well known driver of the sport, is worth the time.

Street Parked: Jagkayakgaj in Long Beach

Jaguar e-type coupe kayak hauler

My pal Anders saw this Jaguar E-type kayak hauler street parked in Long Beach, California. If you ask me, hauling boats is the perfect use for an E-type coupe. The 5.3 litre V12 in this Series 3 car provides adequate power to shorten the distance from home to shore access. I wonder if this car ever shows up at Cars and Coffee?

Street Parked: Jaguar Mark 2

Jaguar Mark 2
The Jaguar Mark 2 is an interesting car. It was designed under Sir William Lyons’ maxim of “grace, pace, and space”. The design appears to have worked as the Mark 2 is equally at home hauling the over-privileged to fashionable shops or hauling hoons around race tracks.

Street Parked: Grocery Getting Jaguar E-Type

If you have to go shopping, you might as well have fun getting there.
There is nothing like a grocery store car park filled with anonymous SUVs, crossovers, and tinted windowed Bimmers to make something like this Jaguar stand out like a roman candle going off in church.

Click through for some pictures that actually show the entire car. I just loved getting a shot of this Jag’s redline tire and bulbous snout juxtaposed with the Safeway sign.

Jaguar C-X16 Prototype-Teaser (Pictures included)

Is Jaguar finally stepping into the modern era? I was just having a conversation with my girlfriend about Jaguar yesterday, and what the perception of the brand is to modern consumers.

Even with the revised styling changes that the brand has brought along in the last few years, Jaguar is still seen as a luxury brand that lacks sporting roots. (see:’car for old people’)

Jaguar has been trying to raise their profile by returning to racing with the ALMS GT race car, and competing in the SuperStars series, but I don’t see much of an trickle-down into their road cars to liven up the brand.

However, a new teaser video has been released of a prototype model of a new Jaguar, the C-X16. It has styling cues that remind me of the Maserati GranTurismo and the Ferrari California, which are both good reference points.

I don’t have much information on the specifications on the car, but if it goes as good as it looks, we’d all be in for a treat.

Lunchtime Video: Martin Brundle drives a Formula 1 Car around London

Martin Brundle takes an Jaguar Formula 1 car through the streets of London on a promotional drive. We see this all the time with Red Bull Racing nowadays. (Technically, it’s the same team continuing to do it. 😉 )

However when this happened at the time, this was the most epic thing that you can do.

Enjoy the video.

Jaguar F1 Team- Sponsored by Becks.

Today is St. Patricks Day, we have a racing team adorned in green, and sponsored by Becks. Talk about a freebie topic. 😉

You can’t have a St. Patrick’s Day and not talk about Jaguar. Just to give a bit of background on the Jaguar Formula 1 Racing team, it was formerly Jackie Stewart’s “Stewart Grand Prix” team now purchased by Ford.  In 2000, Ford renamed the team to raise interest toward their premier brand, Jaguar. However, as a racing team they never really came up to par in the Formula 1 arena.
