|Videos| Birth of the Mclaren F1 GTR

The Mclaren F1 GTR is one of my favorite cars, of all time. These videos bring to mind a discussion that I’ve been having with some of my peers about having the right network of people around you, in order to create true success.

Seeing all of the brilliant people involved in developing such a program really drives that point home.

|Video| – This 13 Year Old Superbike Rider knows what’s up! #superbike #racer #motogp

This morning, I received a video about Lachlan Taylor, a young rider who is currently competing in the Shell Asia Talent Cup Test in Malaysia. At 13 years old, he’s already an Australian dirt bike champion. Now he’s moving to road racing, and is racing through the junior series in Asia. I was also fortunate enough to be shared some some background information on about his career, so far.

#drift Mind Control reminds you what it’s all about…if you watch it. #fun

This video about the drift team, Mind-Control, reminds me about why I got into enjoying cars in the first place. The sheer fun of it all. Sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves in motorsport, I feel like people just forget what should all really be about. Going fast and having fun.

For most ‘ADHD-Smartphone-dependent-venti-coffee-drinking- give it to me now’ internet users, you’re probably not going to take the time to watch a 14 minute video in Japanese.

You should though. You really should.

Audi R18 ETron testing makes me wonder why I don’t watch more WEC.

So with all of the negative press surrounding F1 in media-life, my friends and I have been talking about other racing series that we probably should be paying more attention to. Eventually the conversation always comes back to the World Endurance Championship.

Even though it’s harder to ‘relate’ to a team when you have three cars per team and three guys sharing a car, you really cannot doubt that the P1 cars are basically Formula 1 cars with roofs on them.

Check out this test at Monza. You can’t argue this speed.

|Video| Chris Harris on Ken Block’s Gymkhana SEVEN AWD 1965 Mustang (The Hoonicorn!)

I’m not going to lie. When Gymkhana 7 came out, I was a little bored after four or five minutes. I always wished that Ken Block had released four or five mini-short videos of his Mustang rather than a 12 hour…I mean minute epic. However, what did excite me was the 845 hp, 8000rpm, AWD Mustang.

I was hoping that someone would make a video to give some technical detail about the car. Enter Chris Harris. This is a nerdgasm about this amazing car.

Even if Gymkhana 7 is still too long.

|Video| A beginner’s guide to Formula E

As Formula E is going through development in it’s initial season, I really like how the series is doing it’s best to spread more media awareness of the cars, series and the technologies around them.

I wish that Formula 1 did this, because I feel like in a year where the series has some of the most technological advanced engines in the history of the sport, no one knows about it.

|Video| What happens when you take a #F1 car to a club track day?

If you’re into cars, you’ve joked about it at least once. What would happened if someone took a Formula 1 car to a track day. Well, some clever old guy took an Arrows A22 F1 car out to a club day, and had a go! Watch as basically he just crushes everything out there *and then probably brags to his friends that he does everything “flat out”*.;)

Long story short, this needs to be one of the things I do now. 😉
