(Shifter kart vs Brazilian Stock Cars) – People keep forgetting about how fast racing karts really are…

…and that you can actually get one of these things, as a regular person! The shifter kart, not the Brazilian Stock Car.

Five or so years ago, I found a video about where Rubens Barrichello shows how much faster a shifter kart is than a production car in the dry.

Funny enough, I found myself in a side thread with someone who didn’t want to admit how fast racing karts can be…

Now, I’ve found a video that shows how fast a shifter kart can be compared to a race car in the wet. (In my opinion, Race karts rarely get the respect they deserve with how fast they really are.)

Three anime that get me psyched to go racing

As follower of my blog know, I love racing. I get inspired by many so many elements of motorsport. However, one of my hidden secrets is my love of racing animes and mangas.

There something about how them that make me just want to get into my kart and hit the track. So, since I was in the middle of binge watching through some right now, I wanted to share three of my favorite anime that inspire me to go racing.  So let’s get started with a classic…

Documentary of Porsche 919 in LeMans – 2015

I’m liking that we’re entering an era of automotive technology development, where hybrid power is being focused as much towards performance as it is towards gas mileage.

The Mclaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 919 are just a few examples off the top of my head where manufactures are embracing hybrid technology towards the aim of greater performance. This documentary is of the development of the Porsche 919, heading towards it’s 2015 LeMans win.

These are just one of those videos that I like posting, because it’s cool. Nerdy, awesome and cool. Hybrid tech isn’t just for the Prius anymore.

Japanese Racing Vans. No, seriously. It’s a thing…

When a friend of mine brought this to my attention, the first thing that came across my mind was “Man, Japan has everything…” Well, the first thing was “Holy crap, that’s freaking random.” Then, “Japan has everything…” (video after the bump)

I pretty much took the weekend off racing to watch the World Touring Car Championship at the Nurburgring. It was the first year that that series was back at the full Nordschleife, and I wasn’t going to miss that.

Although really, I wasn’t going to miss it since the FIA doesn’t care if WTCC is on Youtube. I like how, unlike other motorsports *cough* Formula 1 *cough*, you can easily find links.It’s like someone understands that in 2015, if you like something, that you should put it on the Internet. How novel!

Anyway, I watched it. You should watch it. Here you go.

Ever since I heard that the WTCC was going to return to the Nordschleife in 2015, I couldn’t help but be excited. Having a World Touring Car race on the 13.2 mile track is going to be something to see.

Now seeing that the Green Hell isn’t just a track that you can learn over a race weekend, the WTCC set up a practice day for the teams. Check out Loeb in this video as a teaser for the race later in the year.

Does anyone know anything about Super Formula? – Capeta Redux

Super Formula – If Capeta was real, this would be the series that he would end up in. Surprisingly this Japanese-based open-wheel series has a ton of ex-F1 drivers that has raced in it, such as Ralf Schumacher, Pedro de la Rosa and Kazuki Nakajima.
