Turbo F1 Engines: How they started- Part 1

In 2014, the engine formula for Formula 1 is changing to a 1.6 liter V6 turbo format. With the re-introduction of turbochargers in Formula 1, I wanted highlight the era in the early 1980s when turbochargers first entered the sport.

Pundits have been concerned that in 2014, the sound of the new turbo-charged engines will ruin the sound of Formula 1. Listen to the engines in this video. I honestly I don’t think we have anything to worry about!

The video is quite long, so I’ve found it split into two parts. Part 1 will be featured today, and Part 2 tomorrow.
